Shopping at the Central Wet Market.

Cooking is my new hobby.  It rejuvenates the mind, highly therapeutic and medidational.

Having spent my last few rounds of grocery shopping in the Park’n Shop International, I finally decided to ditch the dismal collection (not even bitter melon) and plunged into the local wet market.

I did not have the best impression on the wet market growing up, as my parents painted the picture of diseases-land, H5N1/ bird flu amongst others.  My first, purposeful venture to the Central wet market marked a stark contrast to that picture.  On a lazy, stuffy summer afternoon, this market is easily one of the most vibrant parts of Central.  Bargaining, transporting, offloading goods.  What have I been missing out?

Given the short time frame I have to cook tonight (less than 1.5 hours from shopping to finish!), I spent a mere 30 minutes there to get my essentials - bitter melon, eggs, sugar, and bean curds.

I’m definitely coming back very soon!
